26.02.2010Launch of third CHI VAC Report!
In 2006, the final report of the United Nations Violence Against Children Study (UNVAC Study) was presented. The report provided a detailed picture of the nature, form and incidence of violence against children. Most importantly the report made twelve overarching and holistic recommendations to combat and prevent violence and abuse from occurring.

Child helplines participated actively in the UNVAC Study and were mentioned Recommendation no. 8 as a mechanism “through which children can report violence, speak to a trained counsellor in confidence and ask for support and advice”

CHI has followed up on the UNVAC Study Recommendations since 2007. The third CHI VAC Report collates the responses from child helplines and associate member organisations on the third CHI VAC questionnaire and data collected through the annual data proforama.
The report is available for download in four languages on the publications page, here.
