Fundraising Officer - Part-time 32 hours p/w

The role of Fundraising Officer Reporting to Head of Operations, The Fundraising Officer is responsible for the strategic development of CHI’s donor portfolio. CHI seeks a results-oriented fundraiser with a proven track record to help secure the ongoing role of the CHI Secretariat in strengthening child helplines as a crucial tool in the protection of children worldwide.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Drives the development of CHI’s donor portfolio, developing new contacts and new opportunities; this includes researching, building relationships, writing proposals, developing and delivering pitch presentations.
- Works co-operatively and effectively with the Management Team in all aspects of fundraising.
- Identifies funding opportunities for member child helplines.
- In conjunction with the Executive Director, devises a strategy for corporate fundraising.
- Develops yearly operational plans and activities needed to achieve annual income targets.
- Maintains effective relationships with corporate and institutional partners.
- Researches, develops and implements new fundraising products and tools for reserve fund creation.
- Takes the lead on gathering project information and budgets for the development of proposals.
- Oversees and coordinates timely reporting to donors.
- Manages all records relating to donors and grants.
- Keeps abreast of developments in the fundraising and donor development sector by attending appropriate meetings and conferences as agreed with the line manager.
- Conducts regular update meetings with the Management Team.
- Occasional travel where necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Academic Degree or equivalent.
- At least five years experience in corporate and institutional fundraising role or similar.
- Demonstrable experience in achieving challenging fundraising targets.
- Proven experience in donor portfolio management.
- Extensive knowledge of a wide range of fundraising techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic, French or Spanish are also desirable).
- Adept at prioritising and managing deadlines.
- Experienced negotiator and strong (proven) presentation skills.
- Ability to work alone or in a small team and across departments.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Creative and pro active approach to tasks.
- A broad knowledge of child protection issues.
- Ability to work under pressure.
General Information Child Helpline International is based in the centre of Amsterdam. We are currently a team of thirteen comprising of nine different nationalities. The initial contract period will be for six months with an extension depending on performance.
Only candidates in possession of a valid work permit for the Netherlands will be considered.
Salary Indication € 31,870.00 - €42,900.00 pro rata dependant on relevant experience.
